The urge to spring clean can tempt us to prune our Encore Azaleas now, but please wait…

If you think your Encore Azalea needs pruning, do so immediately after the spring flowering for maximum bud set.
When you’re ready to prune, we suggest pruning tall shoots with hand trimmers, instead of using hedge clippers or powered pruners.

What About In The Fall?

Refrain from pruning in the summer or fall as much as possible; if you prune then, you will be clipping off the buds that have set for the next bloom cycle.
